即：Laos has a land area about the same size as Great Britain，这个句子对吗？ 查了一些资料，发现这个应该是错的。

在网上看到几个类似的说法，不过发现和我上面的句子还是有很大区别。
网上的有：
Australia is roughly the same size as the United States with less than a tenth of the people. Australia和 the United States比较
Venus is almost the same sizeas Earth. Venus 和Earth比较
所以，如果句子是----Laos is about the same size as Great Britain. 应该是对的；
但Laos has a land area about the same size as Great Britain是错的，应该补全---Laos has a land area about the same size as that of Great Britain.

这两句话都是一个结构：XXX is size.
SIZE是个数据，不是国家/行星范畴，严格来讲这两个句子都不对。
——已然认为这两句不严谨，需要在is后面加上of/about

第二句的about就是介词啊？about the same size修饰前面的a land area，这样不对么？
第二句应该是对的，来自prep08，我一开始以为about the same size修饰的是Laos，其实修饰的是靠近的a land area，这样的话后面比较的也应该是a land area of Great Britain.

所以不太明白你这句话的意思：

Laos has a land area about the same size as that of Great Britain.——错
这两句的主干抽出来是：Laos has a land area size.显然不对。area和size中间缺介词。

最后两句不是GMAT的材料，主要是不知道怎么描述size，就Google了一下~~~

查了一下，about貌似确实可以直接这样用.......
sorry，之前一直只注意about表达近似时的副词用法。

介词短语基本什么都可以修饰呢，Manhattan里有这个知识点~~
