twe120 Decisions can be made quickly,or they can be made after careful thought. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The ddecisions that people make quickly are always wrong. Use reasons and specific examples to support your opinion.
I don't agree with the statement that decisions that people make quickly are always wrong. Rather, I hold the view that whether the decision is right or wrong depend largely on the decision maker, not on the lengh of time.
The decision made in a short time is not necessarily wrong if the decision maker has an acute sense of the right choice. We can find many people with this ability around us such as a wise governer, an outstanding manager of a large enterprise, or a capable CEO of an overseas company. They usually have piles of documents to sign on and bunches of decisions to make in a single day. Obviously, it is impossible to cope with the demanding work without the ability to makie decisions quickly, and of course accurately. Based on this point, we can not suppose the statement of the topic is percise.
Besides, if one can take all factors into consideration, he will manage to make a right decision. Actually, the correctness has nothing relevant to the time taken. In an urgent situation, people have to choose the right way to go on as quickly as possible. For example, when a dying patient is sent to the emergency ward, the doctor is supposed to check his body quickly and take immediate measures to save him. Any waste time can be dangerous to the patient's life. At this point, doctors always make right decisions because they are familiar with the situation and are able to combine the related factors together in order to give their precise diagnoses. Therefore, it again contradicts the statement's topic that quick decisions are always wrong.
Making a decision is a harsh job while making a right one in a short period of time is even harder. But we can't simply come to a conclusion that the decisions people make quickly are always wrong. Rather, I strongly believe that quick decisions can be right as long as we have the acute sense of correctness and take every factor into consideration. |
