学沫求大神解释一道CD GMAT备考指导书中的语法题

To actually study the wreck and the lives of the people on Titanic, a team of archaeologists, who are funded by the British government, are requiring a detailed site map that shows navigation route of the ship.

(A) are requiring a detailed site map that shows
(B) require a detailed site map that shows
(C) requires a detailed site map that shows
(D) have a requirement of a detailed site map showing
(E) has a requirement of a detailed site map showing

本题正确答案是C，解释说因为主句主语“a team of archaeologists”是单数，所以其谓语动词也需要用单数。
那么问题来了，为什么前面“who are funded by the British government”中用的是复数形式呢？“who”是指代archaeologists所以用are？如果将“who”换成which是不是就可以用单数形式is了呢？下次我要是再碰上这种题该如何判断单复数形式？

本人刚刚开始学习GMAT语法，如今这么弱智的问题还希望各位大神能帮助解答一下~非常感谢！

Hi, 昭子木.
楼主刚开始，不用急，看多了长难句自然一眼变可分辨出。从现在练习抓住句子的主干！
1. To actually study the wreck and the lives of the people on Titanic
插入语to...表目的；
2. a team of archaeologists
主语，注意A of B结构的中心词是A，也就是这里的team，所以主语是单数，谓语动词必然也是单数；
3. who are funded by the British government
定语从句修饰archaeologists，所以用复数形式are；况且who也不能用来修饰team；楼主千万不要试图修改未划线部分或质疑正确选项，只要GMAC这么写，在GMAT世界里就一定对；
4. are requiring a detailed site map that shows navigation route of the ship
谓语动词用单数，所以排除ABD；
5. 剩余CE选项，GMAC最喜欢用动词直抒胸臆，况且E中的时态也不对，所以选择C。
