关于this those these的指代问题~~

看PREP08笔记，163题下面的一个考点说：
2. this指代除非特别明显，否则通常不可单独指代，需要加上具体名词（即this做为adjective），如this code等，才是正确的指代形式。同理those/these在指代时，通常均需补充名词。
可到了165题：165. (OG10-243)Some scientists have been critical of the laboratory tests conducted by the Federal Drug Administration on the grounds that the amounts of suspected carcinogens fed to animals far exceeds those that humans could consume

A.far exceeds those that humans could consume

B.exceeds by far those humans can consume

C.far exceeds those humans are able to consume

D.exceed by far those able to be consumed by humans(E)

E.far exceed those that humans could consume

只是一个单独的those,并没有后面的名词啊~~

manhattan SC Chapter five 里面有提到说 that/those 单独指代时只能成为 “New copy”, eg: the money spent by her parents is less than that spent by her childern. 这里的those 是指代money 但不是 exactly same money. 你必须要说明你的这个"new copy"和先行词有什么区别。
当that/those要指代exactly same things的时候必须要加上名词

看你这个题目those仅仅指代 amounts of suspected carcinogens 并不是那个“amounts of suspected carcinogens fed to animals ”
