解释中说用having是修饰structure的，而用with 是修饰insect eye的，不懂为何用with是修饰insect eye，难道有什么with的就近原则吗，求大神帮我分析下句子结构~

解释没说而用with 是修饰insect eye的，with its hundreds of miniature eyes called ommatidia是独立主格，独立主格是什么？是状语。状语是修饰谓语动词的。

解释说的是“with its hundreds of miniature eyes” refer to the compound insect eye。说的是its的指代对象。

这道题主要还是考的句子逻辑，having动名词，应当跟动词help是相同的主语，修饰structure；
with，如上，修饰动词help
也就是说，如果是AB，就是structure helps do sth.
CDE是stucture+with , 共同help do sth，是整个情况来help，而不是struture本身help，毕竟structure只是一个词，不能说明什么。

ing分词在句中不是优先做定语修饰就近的名词吗？那不是应该修饰的是insect eye吗？为什么是修饰structure呢？求牛牛帮忙(๑•ั็ω•็ั๑)

SVO，doing...是简化的状语从句，且doing的主语与主句同。修饰主句。你说的是现在分词做后置定语定语只能修饰名词或代词，不能是句子。明显区别是没有逗号。
