是啊是啊，同问，为什么之前没人问呢，只有人说肯定是as，可是，，真的不理解呢，知道的人来讲讲吧

我认为是as。。。as 的用法。。

这里的和such as是共用的，这个共用好像大全也有的。。

很显然，这里as肯定不同于 with，不知你注意到后面的have greatly downsized没？那是从句的谓语，因此肯定不能用with, as 在这里不是“作为”的意思，而是“因为”，as 引导的是一个原因状语从句，而with引导的非介宾短语。

后面的have greatly downsized……

读题时还专门记了一下，把5个答案看完就忘了……

这句本来我选a，觉得句意如果是 主句：the steel industry has changed, as companies (后置定语once conducted operations) have greatly downsized, or shut down altogether. 比 the steel industry has changed, as companies that...更合理。

因为句意应该是，随着公司缩小规模甚至关闭，钢铁工业大大改变了。而不是随着公司，钢铁工业大大改变。强调的是动作，而非公司。

但是。。。

后来发现选a的话，没有逗号和that隔开，that修饰companies。在a中变成bethlehem steel onced conducted operations have greatly downsized, or shut down altogether.改变了句子意思。

所以虽然句意不是最佳，还是应该选b

如果选A的话，Bethlehem Steel和后面的have主谓就不一致了

所以B,that限制性定语从句修饰companies      as在这里解释因为

up
