想问一道SC大全177题的语法结构

大全177：

Bihar is India’s pooreststate, with an annual per capita income of $111, lower than in the mostimpoverished countries of the world.

(A) lower than in

(B) lower than that of

(C) and lower than that of

(D) which is lower than in

(E) which is lower than it is in

这道题选B，我想问一下后面半句 lower than that of the most impoverished countries of the world 在句子中做什么成分？

这道题我开始选的是E，虽然知道it指代的是an annual per capita income of $111整体，应该用that指代比较合适，但觉得B选项的lower than前面没有which很奇怪，没见过这种用法。。。。而且前面还是一个独立主格结构

。。。。想知道这是什么修饰方法？

就是个 noun modifier
修饰 an annual per capita income

随便举个栗子

这道题目考什么？lower than的平行结构！！！X is lower than Y，X和Y要平行。
题目短，很明显X是the annual per capita income of Bihar，那么Y呢？the annual per capita income of the most impoverished counties of the world。就是说印度的Bihar太苦逼了，比最穷的国家还要穷（幸好印度还是有非常有钱的邦的，使得最为一个国家的整体水平不是最苦逼的那个）。

非常感谢~~~~ ！！不过还有个问题想请教：因为前面是独立主格结构，所有如何看出来这是 X is lower than Y 结构，并且X是 the annual per capita income of Bihar 呢？我看着好晕@~@ 。。。

我又好好读了几遍，感觉有点儿明白啦O.O，确实是基础薄弱，Manhattan我看的中文版，而且看的很匆忙，我再去英文版里看看，非常感谢你的解答~~！！
