OG上关于平行结构的两道题，求答疑解惑

第一道题：

127. Joan of Arc, a young Frenchwoman who claimed to be divinely inspired, turned the tide of English victories in her country by liberating the city of Orleans and she persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne.

A. she persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne

B. persuaded Charles VII of France in claiming his throne

C. persuading that the throne be claimed by Charles VII of France

D. persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne (D)

E. persuading that Charles VII of France should claim the throne

正确答案B，A错的原因，OG解释如下：

Joan of Arc is the subject, turned is the first verb of the main clause, and persuaded is the second verb; so the sentence should be Joan ... turned... And persuaded. Inserting she before the second verb both violates the parallelism and adds an unnecessary word.

OG上第二道题：

To Josephine Baker, Paris was her home long before it was fashionable to be an expatriate, and she remained in France during the Second World War as a performer and an intelligence agent for the Resistance.

(A) To Josephine Baker, Paris was her home long before it was fashionable to be an expatriate,

(B) For Josephine Baker, long before it was fashionable to be an expatriate, Paris was her
home,

(0 Josephine Baker made Paris her home long before to be an expatriate was fashionable,

D是正确选项，可是D如果正确的话，这句话就是 JB made paris her home, she remained......... 按照第一题OG对于平行结构的解释，这个SHE应该是多余的呢？？？

求大牛解释！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！

请LZ仔细注意两句的and的区别，第二句有逗号作分隔，而第一句没有。

Hi 各位大牛好，在曼哈顿上的语法书上看到如下几个疑问：

1 Modifier的一章中说:

在被动语态中，可以用不定式表示目的：（Infinitives of purpose can be used with unnamed agents in passive voice sentence）E.g: the weight was lifted to free my leg.

但是在Chapter13 中，书中又写到：

The building was demolished to avoid falling down accidentally. 这句话是错误的。

请问，上面这句话如果按照modifer中理解，就是对的啊？请问错误在哪里。

2 That指代问题

曼哈顿中有句话： The incidence of the disease among men exceeds that among men. 此处 that 可以指代the incidence of the disease.

但是我在一些其他句子中，却看到 that 只能指代of结构的部分名词。所以有些迷惑，that到底是指代a of b 结构整体，还是部分A或者B，或是整体看情况定。

第一个问题，我觉得问题在于不定式后面的动词，第一句的主动语态你可以说 I lifed the weight to free my leg. 这没问题。但第二句如果变成主动语态就会是 Someone demolished the building to avoid falling down. 这就错了，不科学！所以正确的句子只能是The building was demolished to keep it from falling down。或者 The contractors demolished the building to keep it from falling down。

第二题，Manhattan的这句话不知道有没有抄错among men 还是among women? 但我觉得GMAT的代词问题并不是令人纠结的问题，只要读懂句子，凭正常的逻辑基本都能判断代词指代什么的, 不需硬性把代词分门别类的比较区别。

这句话的确是错误的，主要错误是不定式的逻辑主语混乱。
was demolished被爆破拆除（被动），逻辑主语是The building。
to avoid避免（主动），逻辑主语是demolish的发出者
falling down（主动），逻辑主语是The building
看到了吗？
was demolished和falling down的逻辑主语是句子主语The building，但是to avoid的逻辑主语不是。所以错。
例子：
I answer you question to help you.
answer逻辑主语是I
to help逻辑主语也是I
必须要一致。

that到底是指代a of b 结构整体，还是部分A或者B，或是整体看情况定
对于A of B that的结构that的先行词是谁要看具体情况：

I am the only one of all students who studies hard.
I am one of all students who study hard.
都正确，看你表达的是什么意思。
