(B) million, a part of a deal that makes - 同位语从句修饰一般修饰靠近的名次或者名词短语，这里修饰million，不符合逻辑，还有时态的错误，应该用will make

(C) million, part of a deal making - 同上

(D) million as a part of a deal to make - to make 不符合逻辑，a part of a deal 也不能主动去make，他的目的也不是为了make...只能说是deal的结果

(E) million as part of a deal that will make - correct

对正确答案E没有异议，想问一下as在这里作什么成份呢？

as此处是介词，引导一个介词短语，做状语，伴随it will purchase the color-printing division of a rival company for $950 million as part of a deal that...句中谓语动词purchase。

谢谢alzn。那如果是 I will buy a cake as birthday gift to my friend句中，as是介词，引导后置定语，修饰名词吧？所以说as可以引导后置定语或者状语修饰前面的内容，这要看具体修饰的内容。可以这样理解么？

你的例句就有问题，你是按照中文写出的英文句子，这句话应该是这样的：
I will buy my firiend a cake as a birthday gift.

固定搭配： buy sb sth (buy可接双宾语)
as a birthday gift做宾补，补充说明sth的性质： a cake is as a birthday gift.

所以说as可以引导后置定语或者状语修饰前面的内容，这要看具体修饰的内容。可以这样理解么？
