為何B不行呢?

C. shots that were sent by swift messenger took four days to reach New York City and another eleven days
E. shots took four days by swift messenger to reach New York City and another eleven days (correct)
為什麼一定要E, not C?

except在这里是介词，如果是连词应该跟句子而不是in the domains of administration and teaching.
而句子Mauritius was a British colony for almost 200 years和句子the English language was never really spoken on the island.之间是需要连词的。
另外两个介词可以连用，比如：Do you want to see stamps from around the world?
或者from behind the door

另外一题我也不确定，因为A of B that...结构中，定语从句可以修饰A也可以修饰B，是不是因为sent这个词有点儿多余，显得啰嗦？
分词sent by messenger比从句that were sent by messenger表达得简洁，如果把sent也去掉，直接就是by messenger.
大家有什么看法请多指教。

C中的that 必须修饰紧跟的名词但是根据句意这里应该是news 做逻辑主语所以C 的 news of shots that 这里的that修饰shots 不对 E中是 news of shots took 那么 took 的主语是news 符合逻辑主谓

第一题，选B sentence run-on
第二题，C选项错用了限定性定语从句，直接改变了句意：被swift messager传递的那个news用了四天到达纽约。言外之意：有不止一个news，用不同的方式传递到纽约。注意原句用的是,which的非限定性定居从句，意为：news是通过swift messager传递的，用了4天时间到达纽约。
因为限定性定语从句和非限定性定语从句所表达的逻辑意思大部分时候完全不同，不可以相互改写。
