原题是：此题选E，但是不明白A为啥不对，as the former chair… for 18 consecutive years为啥不符合逻辑？？如果是

former chair，attended…为什么不对？？？跪求解答，

我感觉，其实这个句子在and前后，已经给了提示。题目中and后面是a board member，而不是former board member之类的~故，and前后要平行，首先~

其次，要关注句子的逻辑（就是语义），可以说 the former chair of the planning board，但是the former chair of XXX for more than 18 years，这个感觉就不对了吧~？

A的翻译为： “连续当了18年的前任主席”，已经将“前任主席”作为了一个职位，所以逻辑意思不对
