普及 unit credit...老外都说没差了,都是银子。。。
Your mathematical concept course is worth 3 semester units. Sometimes they call them units, sometimes semester units but its the same thing.
Credit hour, credit unit are the same: It is how they measure how involved a class may be. What it means is each course you take depending on the course is worth so many credit hours or units dependong on how involved you have to be in it for class time and study time.. So for example you may take a class introduction to art and that class will be worth 1 unit and probably only have to go 1 day per week for a 1 hour class requiring you to study about 2 hours for that class. However, you make take chemistry or your mathematical concepts class and that may be worth 3 units because you will have to go to that class more often and it will be harder and require more study time on your own..
So my daughter is only in the class maybe 2-3 hours a day and the rest of the time you are on your own to study and do whatever you want. You are not sitting in class all day only a few hours.
To be considered a full time student which is a requirement for a lot of federal aid, you need 12 units. So if you take 4 harder classes that are 3 units each that is 12 units, so that would mean you would only have 4 courses that whole semester and they are usually alternate days. Here is my daughter schedule for this semester. She has 12 units:
This semesters Schedule

So most high school students think college is going to be like high school where you go from 7-3 all day. its not like that at all, Pretty much you will have 2 maybe 3 classes a day. It does not seem like a lot but keep in mind for every 1 class you attend you need 2 hours of study time at least and that is why they do that. Sometimes you need that much, often not, sometimes you need more.
Also the great thing is you get to pick when you want to go to the class and who the professor is. The classes are offered all day and from early to really late like to 10 p.m. The first year its hard to know which professors are better teachers but after your first year and you get to know people they will tell you so you can pick the professor but you get to pick when you want to go to the classes. If you get up early and want to start early you can pick early classes. That way you can get to class, do your homework and you can take a job later in the day if you want. My daughter is not a morning person so her classes start later and as you can see she chose to have friday off, so she has a 3 day weekend so she can come home if she wants since she is in state or come see her old friends who alla ttend different colleges and her boyfriend. However, she has a job in the area of college.
I hope this helps you. |
