Despite recent increases in sales and cash flaw that have propelled automobile campanies'common stocks to new highs,several industry analysts expect automakers,in order to conserve cash,to set dividends more conservatively than they were.
A 同上
B to set dividends more conservatively than they have been
C to be more conservative than they have been in setting dividends
D that they will be more conservative than they were in setting dividends
E that they will be more conservative than they have been to set dividends
答案是c
这道题根据时态和expect用法可以秒排除d e
然后到了a b c的时候我就方了，我觉得正确答案c也是不平行的啊。。想请大牛们帮忙解释下。

我今天正好解决了这个问题，但是写的不好，你别介意啊。
A, B直接就可以排除啊。这样给你改写下： Analysts expect A to set dividends more conservatively than they were. 这里不能用were，因为前面是 to do。 have been 和to do 也对不上。 "have been" 和“were”可以表状态和动作的延续，但根据前面的to do，这两个情况都不适用。你看答案C， to be 和have been 就对上了。
选项E 应该不是时态问题，应该是idiom用法。 expect sb to do sth。

l楼上也说的比较清楚了，有一些还需要 clarify:
比较的结构中，如果后面部分出现动词，那么前后动词是要一致的，而动词的形式可以不一致。也就是说，后面出现的动词，前面要出现；前面出现的动词，后面也要一致（但是如果在句子意思比较明确的情况下，后面的动词也可以省略；否则必须补足）
A. several industry analysts expect automakers to set dividends more conservatively than they were. （后面出现were,前面必须出现 be动词的其他形式，然而这个句子的前面没有；错误。同时注意，如果前面出现的是一般动词，（也就是除了have/be/can这种动词）后面用do补足；如这个句子是set,后面部分的动词可以用did而不是were补足。）
C. several industry analysts expect automakers to be more conservative than they have been in setting dividends （后面出现have been,前面出现to be，这样才一致；正确）
