Even though more money was removed out of stock funds in July as in any month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as an industry trade group had previously estimated.

A.      as in any month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as

B.       as had been in any other month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as what

C.       than there was in any other month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as that which

D.      than in any month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as(比较D和E)

E than in any other month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as what

92. Never before had taxpayers confronted so many

changes at once as they had in the Tax Reform Act of 1986.

(A)  so many changes at once as they had in

(B)  at once as many changes as

(C)  at once as many changes that there were with

(D)  as many changes at once as they confronted in

(E)   so many changes at once that confronted them in

Choice D is the best answer, stating grammatically and clearly that, with the 1986 Tax Reform Act, taxpayers confronted more simultaneous changes than ever before. In choice A, the past perfect had [confronted] illogically places the 1986 events in the same time frame as Never before had...; a simple past tense is needed to present the 1986 events as following the earlier ones. Choices B and C awkwardly place at once between confronted and its direct object, changes. Furthermore, B illogically states that the Act itself was many changes, when the point is rather that it presented many changes, and as many ... that is an unidiomatic comparison. Choice E, too, presents an unidiomatic comparison with so many... that

"what" is the object of the verb, estimate, so you can't leave out "what".

比较 as adj as 从句 这里的as

AS作关系代词,可用于the same..as/such..as/as..as等结构中,

He smoke cigarettes as expensive as he can afford.

They want peace as much as we do. Helen comes to visit me as often as she can. I can't run as fast as I used to.

二 in any month since October 1987, 因为in July 已经不在十月之后的范围内

所以用in any month更合适

请指正

E.

1. 应该用any other. 出现any other和any, any other必对.

2.

in any month since October 1987, 因为in July 已经不在十月之后的范围内
所以用in any month更合适

to rhod:

AS用于as..as时 是关系代词

Some people have no doubt that their cat understand as many words as does a dog.=their cats can understand all the words which a dog understands.

so ,

sales of fund shares in July were not as low as an industry trade group had previously estimated.

as类似于which
