今天在複習時產生了以上疑問。因為OG141中， Unlike transplants between identical twins, whose genetic endowment is the same, all patients receiving hearts or other organs must take antirejection drugs for the rest of their lives. (A)

whose genetic endowment is the same In A and B, the phrases beginning Unlike... and Besides... modify patients, the subject of the main clause; thus A absurdly states that Unlike transplants ..., patients... must take ... drugs, and B that all patients except for transplants... must take ... drugs. OG在上面提到，(B)中的Besides....有脫節的問題，因為把all patients和transplants做比較了。看以上的解釋，我覺得Besides A, B其中A, B需要同類。 但是今天複習OG102時， Except for a concert performance that the composer himself staged in 1911, Scott Joplin's ragtime opera Treemonisha was not produced until 1972, sixty-one years after its completion. (A) Except for a concert performance that the composer himself staged (A) (B) Except for a concert performance with the composer himself staging it (C) Besides a concert performance being staged by the composer himself (D)

the staging done by the composer himself Choice A is best.
In B, the participle staging inappropriately expresses ongoing rather than completed action, and the prepositional phrase containing this participle (with... it) is unidiomatic. OG提到B的問題在於it的指代不清還有介詞短語的問題。但是沒有說是否有脫節的問題。這裡 Besids後面是 a concert performance, 但是主語是 SJ's ragtime opera。明顯不同類。這會是一個問題嗎? 針對 Besides A, B ---AB是否需要同類的問題煩請NN解惑~~ |
