观点1：A of B 后面的修饰语,主要包括that从句修饰A,因为A是中心词。

观点2：A of B 后面的修饰语既可以修饰A,也可以修饰B,虽然修饰A的几率大于修饰B的几率。修饰语在修饰过程中尽量保持靠近被修饰词语，以免引起歧义。我支持该观点。并从LZMp288 开始找到如下例子：
（1）T3-5, P288, A of B: 句子with a rudimentary sense of vision that would be rated about 20/500; an adult…可能有人还要说修饰sense，那再往下看。
（2）R-13，p303, A of B. MCC has traveled to … dwellings to photograph the art of women, whose murals are brilliantly colored, … 该处women’s murals 显然比art’s murals, 理解起来不那么牵强。
（3）R-22, p308, A of B。 The use of gravity waves, which do not interact with in the way … do, will enable to do something. 这里which 从句只能修饰waves因为从句中do not 的提示。
（4）R-39, p319, A of B, distinction of being dwellings that must also operate as businesses. 这里的that从句显然也是修饰dwellings而不是修饰distinction.
（5）R-43, p321, A of B: … the pattern of changes that have occurred in … indicates that 从句.这里that从句毫无疑问也是修饰changes 而不是pattern.

其中R-43清楚表明A of B的中心词决定主句谓语的地位与B后面的that从句没有关系。大家感觉如何。

这个是一个很难的问题,我希望各位牛牛来解答,

虽然我多么想相信A of B that...中的that 是修饰A,但是有些题目就是解释不通
这个lzm的题目带being(我就看到这一个带being 对的)的,我看了他的就是就是不懂,
不仅being 怪,that 也指代的不是A,要能有一剂好药就好了

lzm的翻译就是这样,这个它到底是指什么lzm也没有说

我认为这是英语中的不严格的地方，或者说语言中都存在这种不严格。什么叫“歧意”？就是写出来的和看的人的理解不同，这其实就说明“理解”是核心。所以，我不认为这个修饰问题有什么盖世原则，核心是意思，觉得只要我们别把这个形式上的判断作为最高优先级去排除选项就可以了，通常可以找到其他错误。这个话题，我也想知道答案，但是我估计，没有。

首先谢谢mzyzhu提供的观点，其实我跟他已经讨论很长时间了，根据他提供例子我有几点看法：
1、这种A of B that...的结构中that从句一般修饰的是A,但也有修饰B的情况，之所以如此，我觉得英语的嵌套式修饰的弱点造成的，因为为了简洁，英文想用一个句子表达中文可能要用2个才能表达的含义；
2、那么到底修饰A还是B，我觉得最关键的还要看懂句意，找出定从要修饰的核心词，这样就很容易判断了；据我的观察，that定从修饰的一般是实意名词，不管是A或B,都是表具体的概念，抽象名词较少；
3、另外我想提到的就是在A of B后面插入which引导的非限定从句，我觉得这样时毫无疑问的就近修饰前面的B的，这样的用法个人以为比后面跟that引导的限定从句意思表达更为准确；

以上属个人观点，供参考及指正！
