我认为这里的比较对象是SUN vs. MOON, 后面应该是as the moon或者as the moon does (has).

如果换成 that of the moon,比较对象就变成 SUN vs. Size of the Moon

如果改成这样应该可以：

The size of the Sun is the same as that of the Moon.
