原题如下：
Analysts blamed May’s sluggishretail sales on unexciting merchandise as well as the weather, colder andwetter than was usual in some regions, which slowed sales of barbecuegrills and lawn furniture.

(A) colder andwetter than was usual in some regions, which slowed

(B) which wascolder and wetter than usual in some regions, slowing

答案选择的是B，可是B中的slowing难道不也是修饰主语analysts么？和选项DE犯了一样的错误，求教！

,Ving modifies the preceding clause。。而且它的逻辑主语必须是clause的主语

所以, slowing是修饰 which was colder and wetter than usual in some regions 。。。逻辑主语是which 。。。而which又指代的是weather
btw , than usual 是正确的idiom

个人认为是这样的：
首先从句子上面来看，句子的意思可以分为两层
第一层：分析师将不佳的销售归因于天气
第二层：对天气造成销售不佳的原因进行解释：天气比平常更冷、更湿，导致了烧烤架等东西的slowed sales（slowing 这一小段如果是在句子结构上是在第三层，也就是说slowing做的是which was这个从句的结果状语）

slowing，是一个结果状语，虽然都说状语的（逻辑）主语是主句的主语，但是！！！
结果状语是对主句谓语动作发生之后产生的结果进行的补充，其修饰对象是整句话，这个时候并不严格要求，状语的逻辑主语就是主句的主语。把它放到语义里面看一下，是colder and wetter than usual 导致了销售不佳，而不是天气导致了销售不佳。

建议多从句意的角度来思考，很度时候就不会那么纠结

所以修饰st + v+ o
