求高手分析一下这个句子结构，感激不尽

疑问1.  对于同位语后面的and后面加的句子成分分析不清楚（黄底部分）

疑问2. E选项最后， and is ....的主语是Richard Stallman？（主句主语）  还是  a colleague of his ？  （宾语从句主语）
还是 one of Kirchhoff’s laws？（距离最近的逻辑主语）？
我知道应该是 one of Kirchhoff’s laws作为它的逻辑主语。  我的问题是如果把E放入句子中，语法角度的主语应该是哪一个？

求好心人解答！~~

黄底部分为后置定语修饰 an observation
至于错误选项，正是因为有各种歧义才会错。从语法上分析可以是几个，但从逻辑上分析只有一个。
