比较结构的一道题，答案遍寻不着~有点急！

大牛们，半夜上来，不是为了刷天天上线的积分奖励的，是为了这道题

In its most recent approach, the comet Crommelin passed the Earth at about the same distance and in about the same position, some 25 degrees about the horizon, that Halley's comet will pass the next time it appears.
A) that Halley's comet will pass
B) that Halley's comet is to be passing
C) as Halley's comet
D) as will Halley's comet
E) as Halley's comet will do

D is OA，however I still doubt the correctness of E

我challenge这句话主句没用'助动词'或'情态动词',所以说了也白说

Thus, answer choice E actually "reads" the comet Crommelin passed the Earth at about the same distance and in about the same position as Halley's comet will do pass the next time it appears. Thus, the verb do is both unnecessary and is not parallel to the verb pass

我都无力驳斥啦。do明显就是指代pass的，哪里会有 will do pass, 想多了吧！

说了那么多，就是想问E哪里不对啊？？？？？？？？？？？？？？？？

我觉得你刻这样就可以了，你如果问为什么只能这样？那就又要大费口舌，也没有必要

do这里的确是多余，和more.....than....形式不太一样，as......as在其比较部分VERB形式相同往往省略(LZ不妨多找些这样的比较例句来分析)。这里动词pass一样，所以省略，而不同的是时态，必须要注明。这里DO的确不需要，反而会被人误认为是will do pass.

比较问题是省略还是要补出动词，核心就看是否有歧义~do明显有歧义，到底是助动词还是实意动词？

LZ比较从句中谓语部分替代前面的谓语时态不一致的时候要体现出来，这句话后面时态表达的是将来时，所以就用will了。要么就用情态动词，没有情态动词再用助动词，没有两个一起用的。

E. 中will do 的do 指代什么。难道指代上面的passed 的吗？一个现在时态，一个过去时。所以为了不引起歧义，就不说do了呀
