derive作为源自讲的时候，不是应该is derived from么？？求解

But you cannot forget the "from which" part that follows either "it" or "the Aramaic script". "From which" prefers the latter.

Answer C is the correct answer. The clause starting with "from which" is in reversed order: both the northern and southern Indian alphabets derive from the Aramaic script.

是不是from wich引导的定语从句再修饰IT这个代词，就很ambiguous呢？

"it" in the sentence refers to "the Achaemenid empire", from which no alphabet was drived.

The verb "derive" follows "alphabets", not "the Aramaic script."

cheers，mate。another question：which 引导的定语从句，是不是只能修饰离他最近的词呢？比如which在这里修饰Aramaic script。再给个例子：The electronicscompany has unveiled(揭开) what it claims to be the world’s smallest network digitalcamcorder, the length of which is that of a handheld computer, and it weighsless than 11 ounces.
这里的wich修饰的是 network digital camcorder，而不是company。。这个例子我举的很弱智。。不过，有没有which不是修饰离他最近的词的情况呢？

其实from which因为把介词提前所以用了倒装，实际是both the northern and the southern Indian alphabets derive from the Aramaic script..
