刚刚收到UC Irvin的MBA offer,Dean Fellowship。

奇怪的是，我还没有递交申请书呢，钱也没交。不过我是申请了她的PhD，但也是没有交钱。

背景很差呀，跟各位大牛的不能比：

GT700，T免考(美国本科(TOP 5% GPA in Graduate class) 和排名80多名的MBA (Top 25% GPA) 毕业(奇怪Irvin的MBA 还要我)，国内政府工作3年(喝茶看报，要是拿来学习就

)，国外打工3年(还行，只刷了1个月的盘，还干了证券交易，不过装样的)。

现在还是F-1读博，不过实在想

，是不是这样的话有优势？再读一个MBA，好BT的样子，不过是想从一个好一点的学校毕业。

UC Irvin is a school that is up and coming, congratulations!

my guess is that they need your background to fill out their statistics sheet (don't be offended, you have been in the states, you know what I am talking about)

I total understand that, just a bit suprise by the decision. Of cause,
the stat report is like a two-blade sword, sometime it will give you
advantage, like in my case of application; sometime it will give you
hell.

I received the letter from UC Irvin too and I did not send application to them at all.

After reading several times I thought it is just an advertisement, as it said 'I am delighted to inform you that based on your exceptional GMAT score, our awards committee has prescreened you for a prestigious Dean's Fellowship, pending your successful application to our full-time MBA program by January 31, 2005.' That means if they do not think my application successful enough, they will not offer me the fellowship.

I have wrote to the Dean, I will tell you the result when they reply.

这跟美国prescreened credit card invitation 是一个意思。邀请信上会说0% APR, 但是事实上你申请了，并不一定能

拿到0%APR.

Pending your successful application, 意味着你要先拿到admission才有可能能拿到Dean's fellowship. 等你申请后才发现，这个admission并不是guarantee的。

UC Irvine还玩这种小Trick, 够狠。

这只是学校marketing的一种手段，条件白纸黑字的都写清楚了，没看见和理解错误不是学校的责任啊。
