Studentsin college now have better conditions and environment to studying than everbefore and many students choose to go aboard for their further education.Should all college and universities students be required to such astudying-in-foreign-country project at least one term? The statement is positiveabout that. But in my point of view, this conclusion is oversimplified andthere are many factors should be considered, like whether it could be appliedand could lead to the ideal consequences as we hope. Admittedly, studying aboard for college students, who are already adults, with ability to beresponsible for themselves, is a beneficial and efficient way to broaden theirhorizons and provide them better and more advanced environment to study. Bygoing to a different country, student himself/herself would know more about itscustom, manners, and its social personalities. In the process of globalization, different culture will lead to a confliction and help them to learn more and bemore international. Besides, in academic field, different way of studying willalso benefit them for critical thinking, and if the country is highly developedin this field, students could learn advanced knowledge and have betterexperimental environment for their own future development. However, the statement concedes all college students should go out. But it might not bepossible for many reasons. Firstly, do all students want to study aboard? Sincestudents are adults now, they should make decisions for themselves. And evenuniversities force them to do so; we should consider whether all students aresuitable for foreign learning. Physically, some students may have some disease, which make them not suitable for travelling, not even thinking about stayingthere for 6 months. Mentally, some students may not overcome the culture shock, which will probably let them quit for being not able to undertake the pressure. In that situation, going aboard for study may be detrimental instead beneficialfor their latter lives. Secondly, what the mechanism will be build to decide which college should a certainstudent be exchanged to? It's human's nature to pursue the best. Most studentswill want to the universities which are strong in academic and whose locationsare suitable and comfortable to live. But the number of "good"universities is limited; neither do their faculties and facilities. By coercionto study aboard without better universities to apply and being enrolled, itwill be better for students to stay at their old college. Besides, there are still many questions. Who are responsible for the tuition aboard? Andwhat if student from an undeveloped country cannot afford it in the universityhe/she is going to in a developed country? Inmy opinion, universities, as institutions for edification and enlightenment, couldprovide students with plenty opportunities to study in foreign countries, butnot force them to do it. Since students could decide whether it will be goodfor them to study aboard, they can make the most beneficial decisions forthemselves. Tosum up, the statement doesn't give a shot at the pragmatic conditions. Althoughit's good for students to live different lives for many reasons, it's notpractical for all students to apply.
