Question: about "that"

(1) Out of America's fascination with all things antique has grown a market for bygone style of furniture and fixtures (that) is bringing back the chaise lounge, the overstuffed sofa, and the claw-footed bathtub. right choice.

ETS explain "that" modify market which we all can understand, since that is more logical, but see (2)

(2) Because there had been a sniper's bullet during the First World War (that) crippled his right hand and arm......wrong choice

ETS explain "that" appares to modify "the First World War" which we can also understand, since "The First World War crippled his right hand" is illogical.

but when you put (1), (2), together, you will find that there are something wrong with them. Because when you are doing the test, for (1), you will think it is wrong, because "that" appares to modify the fixtures, (according the OG explaination in (2) )so you will think that is not logical.  for (2), you will think  here  "that" can modify the bullet (according the OG explaination in (1)) so you think that choice is logical.

O, God, ETS give us a explaination that we all understand, but it is useless, the point is ETS can alway give a perfect explaination in anything.
