问，上面的are不是应该可以删除么，为何需要？不明白，望高人指点。。。。

如果把are去掉的话...原来的比较会有歧义：
1) he views on social issues are more in line with the Olympian Party platform than (in line with) Pater`s.
2) he views on social issues are more in line with the Olympian Party platform than (are) Pater`s (views on social issues).

1) he views on social issues are more in line with the Olympian Party platform than (in line with) Pater`s.
2) he views on social issues are more in line with the Olympian Party platform than (are) Pater`s (views on social issues).

首先道歉，he views应该是her views，打错了，这样一来楼上的1应该可以成立了吧，另外2的话，那个are还是看不懂，是和前面的are平行么？

就是因为没有are了后。。。会让人觉得可能是1)或者2)。。有了are后就只会是2)

2)补足后，是 he views on social issues are more in line with the Olympian Party platform than her views on social issues (are) more in line with Pater`s (views on social issues)?

2)有了are后全句就是：her views on social issues are more in line with the Olympian Party platform than are Pater`s (views on social issues in line with the Olympian Party platform).

如果没有are的话会导致另一种意思：her views on social issues are more in line with the Olympian Party platform than (in line with) Pater`s views on social issues.
