参考答案 是： A 这题 自己选了 C， 觉得挺对的 C 错哪里了呀 A选项 的 and 考的是平行结构么? tripled 和 because 平行？？ 应该不对吧~ 一开始 就排除了
个人意见：首先C里的charcoal’s being replaced 这部分比较awkward，而且后面是several improvements是action noun，前面being replaced是一个simple gerund，这两个形式不平行。我觉得我排除C的最重要一点是，它把原文的逻辑关系给去掉了，原句表达的是一个因果关系，但是with没法表示这层关系。 A中的平行式as a result of 和because,两个表因果关系的subordinate clause的平行

之前我也以为with可以表原因，但是你可以看一下这个http://forum.chasedream.com/GMAT_SC/thread-499047-2-1.html 我觉得with在意思上就没有“因为”的意思，只有“随着的”意思，做adverbial modifier，修饰main verb，更多的是形容how the action happen.当然GMAT的SC实在太博大精深了，我不能很肯定的这么说。 另外“C选项容易让人把the smelting of iron ore and several improvements in blowing machinery作为并列。”好厉害，我一开始只看到with后面和and后面不平行，没想到也可以这么理解！
