正确答案是scientist have gathered evidence suggesting that complex life-forms emerged much earlier than
我想请教这个选项里的suggesting不是应该指scientists 吗，但实际上应该是要指evidence吧，那为什么这个是对的呢，我搞不清楚有些时候分词形式指代那个词，谢谢！

指代证据。有逗号指代主语那人，没有逗号就近知道证据

根据manhattan里面的就近修饰原则，在这里suggesting是就近修饰evidence的。
