C中的修饰语位置一旦改变意思也会改变，你看看A选项the economy will avoid the recession that many had feared earlier in the year 它的修饰关系，C不仅变成插入语，而且还从定语修饰变成状语修饰，再看something earlier in the year many had feared，earlier in this year修饰something了，改变了愿意。

recession that是同位语，具体讲述recession的具体内容
