题目:the best way to teach is to praise the positive actions and ignore the negative ones
提纲: 让步:可以给学生自信 反驳: 1.滋生自满情绪 2.没有意识到自己的错误就不知道改进的方向,不能让自己变得更好。
Generally speaking, an instructor are bound to encounter two categories of actions from students: the positive ones, which are liable to yield beneficial influences, and the negative ones, which probably impede the self-fulfillment of individuals on the contrary. The author claims that the optimal approach to teach is neglecting the latter ones and solely rendering compliments to the former ones. From my perspective, although appropriate appreciations to the beneficent behaviors is ingrainedly blessed with several merits, the speaker's assertion is still problematic in both ignoring the detrimental impacts of too much praising and underestimating the significance of criticizing the negative actions.
Admittedly, the speakers are comprehensively aware of the essential role lauding the commendable behaviors plays in cultivating an informed, competitive and courageous individual in contemporary society. Apposite commentaries concerning actions with positive consequences will equip students with immeasurable confidence, which are able to stimulate them to march forward. Having precious confidence, the students will possess the fortitude to face the unknown challenges and overcome the hardships. Otherwise merely endless reproaching rather compliments are doomed to undermine children's confidence on their capacity and breed the unnecessary hesitance to take risks, which both possibly inhibit students to supersede themselves. On the basis of the demonstration above, we are prudent to conclude that positive feedbacks to children favorable behaviors will boost the development of children.
However, the author erroneously neglects the potential counterproductive consequences of excessive compliments, which is bound to impede the maturity of children and jeopardize the formation of their personality. Overconfidence is one of the most noticeable disadvantages of the speaker's suggestion. Solely appreciating the contributory conducts instead of pointing out the mistakes, children are more liable to swallow such illusion that their probability of mistaking are comparatively inconsiderable and hence they are superior to anyone else. Consequently, it is highly possible for these students that they betray the fundamental requirements of an elegant individual, which is to respect others. What's more, being inordinately arrogant, students will overestimate the capacity of themselves and be induced to attempt what they are not capable of. When they are defeated by the bitter fruits of their reckless behaviors, several students may be deprived of their previous confidence and be sluggish.
Additionally, if the instructors never informs the students of their wrongdoings, the children will lack the ability to distinguish from good to evil and never be conscious of their mistakes. Indeed numerous mistakes are one of the crucial foundation of human progress, without which human-being will never achieve such remarkable accomplishments. However, the very first step to advance from flaws is to comprehensively acknowledge them, otherwise we are not able to absorb experience from these blunders. For instance, if a immature child never be apprised that it is inappropriate to rub others' belongings, he or she will never realize that looting is not what contemporary social norm accolades and will never rectify this wrongdoing.
Conclusively, the either- or logic in the speaker's recommendation is not preferable. On the one hand, the accountability of a responsible adults is assist young generation to discern the right from wrong and overcome the disadvantages of the students; on the other hand, a conscientious teacher should offer pertinent approval to establish children's confidence. |
