These studies utilize a variety of approaches and experimental designs such as rodent animal models including a specific transgenic mouse developed in the lab, cell culture, molecular biology and biochemical techniques. The Department of Biological Sciences and Idaho State University have outstanding state-of-the-art facilities including a Molecular Research Core Facility (http://www.isu.edu/bios/mrcf/mbcf/) and an Advanced Imaging Core Facility (http://www.isu.edu/bios/mrcf/aicf/). Highly motivated students with a background in neuroscience, biochemistry, molecular biology or a related discipline are encouraged to apply.
