PP答案是改Ｃ选项despite为Although she．

问题：despite介词引导的短语可作状语，succeeded可作定语修饰Ezra Pound．为什么Ｄ选项as leader没有错呢？leader作为名词单数，为什么不加限定词呢？

一些表职位和荣誉的名词前可不用限定词修饰.

另外,"succeeded可作定语修饰Ezra Pound" 说不通.还是多从常规思路出发,不要钻牛角尖.

despite如果引介词短语可以作状语，但这里后面接的是从句谓语，说明后面是从句，缺主语和连接词。succeed sb as sth是固定用法。表示代替某人的位置成为。。。这里的意思就是Amy Lowell 取代Ezra Pound成为Leader of the progressive imagists.
