还有就是时态为什么不能用 had done 啊？

很简单，把握两点。
1.时态，客观事实用一般现在时（排除BCD）
2. AandB 并列的前后需要严格对称（排除A）

这种题，你看到了发现什么的证据，是属于真理类的，后面尽量用一般现在时，就像说人类发现地球围绕太阳转，那么过去是这样，现在是这样，将来也会是这样

The use of the past perfect tense here is incorrect, because the action isn't complete. I know it may seem like the descent has ended, but in the present, the elephant is STILL descended from an aquatic animal.That's an eternal truth
