There has been an intriguing issue over what events mark a person an adult. Some people proclaim that falling into love makes a person mature, and others deem that economic dependence means a child different from an adult. As for me, I believe that stepping into the age of 18 is the milestone of a person marking an adult.

To begin with, the age of 18 means, in general, （俺认为此处无必要用插入语，直接用generally means反而使句子更流畅）the maturity of body and psychology. On the one hand, modern research reveals that 84% of the organisms of human beings have developed completely after 18. For instance, the boys grow stronger, the pitch of their voice becoming lower. The girls grow slender, the pitch of their voice becoming higher. Furthermore, most of their second sexual characteristics becoming obvious, the boys and the girls attract each other. On the other hand, the young have experienced enough happiness of success and sadness of fail, which makes them more tolerance 词性？and therefore ready to meet more challenges or, in other words, becoming （应该用原形吧）mature.

Next, in terms of the law, in most countries, a boy or a girl after 18 is always defined as a "majority" instead of "minority", which indicates that he or she will be completely liable to any civil or criminal activities. For example, he or she might be sued the ground of tort. On the contrary, if under 18, the "minority" is usually not bond to a contract he or she signed, unless that is "something necessary".

Admittedly, there are some events which can differentiate a child from an adult, but no one can deny the paramount importance of the 18th years of a person to his or her life, because so many things is changing around the year, physically, psychologically and legally.

From what have been discussed above, it is safe to arrive the conclusion that the age of 18 is the milestone of a person's life, which makes a child be accepted by others as an adult. In fact, some of the seniors cannot remember their other birthday parties, but they never forget the party when they were 18 years.
