People in our modern society are faced withnumerous opportunities in both work and everyday life. When it comes to theissue of whether people should take action after having concerned each singlepossibility, people get into a dilemma. Some individuals suppose that it is toorisky and unpredictable if simply take actions without carefully considered allthe possibilities. However, only by concerning the issue objectively and as awhole could people obtain a more rational conclusion.
People who stand for taking action aftercareful consideration pay most attention on the possible risks that might comealong if they take the action arbitrarily. With the scientific prediction ofthe risks, the possibility of one task to be successful would increase to alarge extent. There is also a warranted term in economy, the opportunity cost,which measures the cost you have to pay when you make a decision. Only bytaking possible consequences of the action into account could the task be morelikely to be accomplished, and more importantly, could the decision maker fixsome details in the action then obtain a more satisfying result.
In contrast, the suggestion of careful andcomprehensive consideration might contribute little to the task, or incontradiction impede to the progress. Some situations are exigent, and theemergency would leave people almost no time for comprehensive consideration,for example, the disastrous earthquake happened four years ago in SichuanProvince in China. People are nearly all devoted to the rescue of the wounded,and this could be never delayed by even minutes' consideration, deriving fromthat the human lives weigh too much than any material assets. Somecircumstances are too complicated for people to reconsider and even hesitate.Take the catastrophic climate change happened in the past decades as anexample, the possible consequences are so plentiful and the deteriorationunpredictable that people would not take control of the natural force even theypredicted the results all around. It is entirely possible that the more carefulconsideration people make, the more likely they are likely to miss theappropriate opportunity to overcome the difficulty.
However, even given with the advantages anddisadvantages of the comprehensive consideration, it is not conflicting if madeuse of rationally. It might contribute more if people dare to accept challengesand are adventurous to take action in some specific conditions. It is probablymore efficient if people consider the results in the progress rather than atthe end of the progress. Since accomplishing tasks step by step in proceduresis a more scientific method to reach the goal.
Though whether people should take somerisky actions or take actions carefully still awaits further discussion, theadvantages and disadvantages of the issue has been comprehensibly recognized.Only by setting up an accurate estimation of the issue could the disadvantagesbe weakened and could the advantages be made use of to a large extent, and thusmaximize the merit provided for people. |
