Description:Fully funded (tuition and stipend) Ph.D. studentships are available starting immediately. Emphasis is placed on recruiting candidates to work on:
(1) Fluid transport in random porous media: including aspects of the transfer dynamics and interactions of liquids (water) in heterogeneous porestructures. Efforts will be directed to study the interactions of polar liquids with calcium silicate substrates and the influence of dissolution and precipitation reactions on transport. This includes aspects of porestructural and fluid transport experiments and the detailed numerical simulation of fluid transfer in unsaturated porous media.
Interested candidates from various disciplines including civil/materials science/chemical/mechanical/aerospace engineering or physics/chemistry/earth sciences are requested to provide a detailed CV and contact Prof. Gaurav N. Sant directly to express interest or in case of questions.
