Which is the best way to teach a child, praise students' positive actions and ignore negative ones or not? The speakersays so, but I don't quite agree with this assertion. From my perspective, Ithink this question is really a complex issue, and it cannot be simply judged.Whether praise positive actions and ignore negative ones or not has to beconsidered in different environment, and in each situation, the answer maydiffer from each other. In the teaching level, different ways of teaching trulyaffect students a lot. And the so-called positive and negative actions havealso been categorized. When teachers are teaching their students, different achievements and errors students make matter so much. As we can see,it a student makes some academic achievements in naturally scientific subjectslike mathematics and physics, teachers shouldn't always praise their students.Because students may be easily satisfied with his former efforts and there is abig chance that he will not work as hard as what he was before the teacher'spraise and therefore leads to his carelessness in the calculating process. Onthe contrary, if the student's achievements are in the field of ideology, teachers should do something to encourage this student, since those disciplinesemphasize a lot on creating a new idea or debating with others in a newperspective. An encouragement will contribute a lot to their willing ofthinking more. Additionally, positive actions and negativeone can be classified into several subsets. For the first level, positiveactions can be divided by the quality of students' achievement, say academicones and actions with merits. Some people will argue that students will benefitfrom both of the two classifications above. Admittedly, good things withmoralities are no doubt to be praised for those things will influence thestudents' whole life, but things of academy are not such simple. Just like whatI have discussed in the former paragraph, disciplines about science andideology differs and we can also demonstrate how important their positiveactions are also maters. One the other hand, negative actions isalso complex. Big faults that refer to moral level made by child should be scoldedbecause of the likely serious results that can be rendered by them. And smallones, say, breaking a plate or unwittingly pouring his meals should be ignoredas the speaker says, because those faults are caused by children’s lack of someability as an adult and most of those can be eradicated as the time going. If achild is scolded because of those small faults, shadows will be rooted in thechild’s mind, and he will lack some spirit like confidence when he grows up. To sum up, things are not always thatsimple when considering this issue about whether should teachers or parentspraise children’s positive actions and ignore negative ones. Classificationscan be built in the teachers' and parents’ teaching and educating modes.Considering all those aspects comprehensively, a relatively teacher or patentscan a person be and children with bright future will be built. |
