Should all citizens in the country be required to perform a specified amount of public service. I agree with the author's general assertion that all citizens should perform some public service. However the author extends the broad assertion to an irreversible extreme while neglecting other vital influence of the problem. In fact, the problem of whether country should require all citizens to do a specified of public service is so complicated and complex that the final judgement should rely on a case-by-case analysis. The opinions vary from person to person since the background, culture and education largely influence one's view. In my point of view, I agree that all citizens should do proper amount of public service which could benefit both the country and the individual themselves.
Admittedly, I would like to admit that the statement, although suffers from some obvious flaws, has some merit primarily in some special case in which the implicit rationale behinds it accords with common sense and our own experience in daily life. Hence, it is partially indisputable. After all, it is a good way for citizens to get relaxed while performing the public service and it is also a way to make contributions to the deeply loved countries. What is more, in the light of country, encouraging all citizens to carry out specific public service help to create a friendly and harmony atmosphere among the whole country thus making the country stable.
However, the evidence cited above does not mean that everyone must perform a specific amount of public service. In fact, too many public service may do harm to citizens' daily life. It is because that as the economy is developing rapidly, people are busy making large fortune to live to more comfortable life and sometimes the public service may occupy too much of their working time as well as leisure time, casting a bad influence on the work efficiency and productivity.
In addition, there is another reason for me to reach my conclusion. The reason is that the demand rised by the country might cause unsatisfied sense among citizens. It is because that no one likes to be always demanded to do things. The unhappy feeling amount the society might bring about crimes or other social problems
In summary, owning to the reasons mentioned above, it is wise to claim that adequate amount of public service performed by the citizens is beneficial to both country and t individual participants. The final conclusion a further analysis and bear in mind other related factors that influence the request.
