看了讨论,还是有些不懂
1.provide的用法到底是什么,我查到的就是provide sth for sb,但是有没有provide sth for doing的??
2.都说C中错是因为they的指代歧义,但是两句并列的句子,后一句的主语代词优先指代前一句的主语么????

我想知道C为什么错

你把动名词理解为名词就讲的通了
provide clues for determining
为决定提供线索

还有，你不觉得C有点啰嗦么when and how。。。。这个蛮常见的句型啊分开来讲就啰嗦了

provide for固定搭配，C比E啰嗦。就酱紫。
这道题我第一次做的时候也选C了，看到to就想选了。

E还是比C好点，总觉得C后面缺什么
另外也许从clue考虑，我觉得更想得通，clue for sth.

表示目的的一般都用to，但是provide和for有固定搭配就没有办法了

provide sth for doing, 没有provide to do sth .的用法，只有provide sth for sb的用法。C中did后面却宾语是硬伤。这题我也错了~

而且C里面有they。。。感觉指代是不是有歧义呢？
