61, Becaue Halley's comet changes orbit slightly during the seventy-six-year interval between passing close to Earth , it may veer onto a collision course with a planet sometime in the distant future.
C. between its passes
E. as it passes

62, The Commerce Department announced that the economy grew during the second quarter at a 7.5 annual rate, while inflation eased when it might have been expected for it to rise.

B. it might have been expected to rise
E. its rise might have been expected.

Halley's comet changes orbit slightly during the seventy-six-year interval...,interval需要用between its passes来解释,而AS强调的是一个点,所以在这里不合适。

61. Agree

62. it refers to "inflation". First of all, the structure of the sentence should match. "Inflation eased" and "it is expected to rise" are matching. In E, inflation and its rise are not matching as they are two different subjects. Secondly, "be expected to do" is more of an idoim. You will proably never see a sentence like "his arrival is expected" instead of "he is expected to arrive".

X expect to Y,
