关于so……that用法的一题，急救！

Often major economic shifts are so gradual as to be indistinguishable at first from ordinary fluctuations in the financial markets.

A. so gradual as to be indistinguishable

B. so gradual so that they can be indistinguishable

C. so gradual that they are unable to be distinguished

D. gradual enough not to be distinguishable

E. gradual enough so that one cannot distinguish them

这题答案是A，可是我觉得C没有问题！是so that错了吗？还是不能用be able to？

unable 指事物拥有能力，而这里人是能力的发出方而非shifts。

是因为be able /unalble to 不能用于被动语态的

明白了！就比如这样：
we are able to overcome the problems 我们有能力战胜困难
The problems are able to be overcame by us 困难有能力被我们战胜？

其实so...as to 这个用法挺有争议的.
在OG10 SC88里面，so... as to 是被看做正确的. 但是在OG12的某道题里面（具体哪道题忘了），又被定义为错的, manhattan针对这个问题也持中立态度.
但是如果我们把它看成正确的话. C答案也明显比A答案更为冗长。GMAT里面主动语态也优于被动语态.
至于able to do 有木有被动形式我也不是很确定....

其实，不觉得C很啰嗦吗？而且明明可以用主动的为什么要用被动呢？主动不是更符合人的习惯，GMAT又没有绝对的对错，只是A的用法更接近人们平常说话罢了
