只有twice as much/many as；没有twice as fast as 的说法，twice只是数量上的翻倍；
what从句相当于名词，我相信你一定见过有what 从句在句首做主语的；it指代 the rate of increase

what 在从句是要充当成分的呀，这里好像it把它的地方占了,为什么不是 twice what was in?
