发现MANHATTAN SC和OG解释相矛盾的地方，求解答！！谢谢

关于逗号+ing，就是ING前面带逗号的，做了好几个OG题，都是逗号+ING，og的解释和MANHATTAN以及其它语法书说的都不一样！
比如OG2015，第67，35题，最典型的的例子，OG2017里面应该也有，只是题号不同，大家可以看看
Q35，By 1940, the pilot Jacqueline Cochran held seventeen official national and international speed records, and she earned them at a time when aviation was still so new for many of the planes she flew to be of dangerously experimental design.

A) and she earned them at a time when aviation was still so new for many of the planes she flew to be

The correct answer is E.

对2个选项B的解释，SUBJECT（名词A)+VERB+OBJECT(名词B)，ing
OG认为ING指代不清楚，可以指代SUBJECT或者OBJECT,但是MANHATTAN的SC清楚的说明：逗号+ING只能指代前句，是个ADV MODIFIER,但是明显OG认为是NOUN MODIFIER,而且记得只有一题OG提到了逗号+ING可以对前句的信息补充，其它的几乎所有的这种选项解释都是认为指代的是名词！！！！不是句子！！！
如果主句和从句存在因果关系，比如按照Manhattan说的从句ING是主句的伴随情况和结果，那就可以选这种结构的选项，但是按照OG的解释是不可以选的！！！因为是个NOUN MODIFIER修饰名词，会造成AMBIGUITY指代不清
Q 67，还好说，因为按照MANHATTAN的解释，逗号加ING指代前句做伴随，不符合题目意思可以排除，
但是Q 35就出问题了，B选项按照MANHATTAN的解释行得通！做伴随，结果都可以，而且我记得RON的课提过逗号+ING的主语DOER就是前面主句的SUBJECT，那么指代应该是清楚的，这个PILOT JAC EARNING THEM（THEM=RECORDS,这里应该不存在PRONOUN THEM不清的问题，因为OG对于THEM的问题没说不清楚），和OG对B的解释有冲突，OG认为还可以指代最前面的名词，RECORDS,而且我发现在OG的眼里好像不存在逗号+ing与不带逗号的ING的区别，把它们当一个就是不带逗号的ING, 可以指代SUBJECT或者OBJECT都行，如果OG不喜欢逗号ING这个选项，就会说它指代不清，也不管逻辑上是否能排除，是否UNDERSTOOD,因为35 Q的B选项明显的RECORDS怎么EARNING THEM呢？逻辑上就可以排除的，反正OG就认为ING可以指代最前面的名词，TOUCH RULE。
觉得很困惑，因为如果按照manhattan对逗号+ING的解释，很多题目会做偏了。。。。。。。。。。。。。该排除的没排，求解惑！！！！！！！大家都意见啊，特别是大神啊！！！！！！！！！！

circling other stars无疑问是一个adverial modifier，那么请问它是修饰谁的呢？修饰的是 most of them at least as large as Jupite还是astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets还是astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets，most of them at least as large as Jupite呢？这个恩么判断呀？

我一开始以为circling是个adverial modifier但后来怎么样都感觉不通，去prep论坛上找了解释，原来它是一个noun modifier，是句子的一部分。most of them at least as large as Jupiter作为一个nonessential modifier将一个句子分开。
下面附上论坛管理员的解释：
The problem here is that circling is NOT a comma + ing modifier. It looks like it, but it's a rare exception to the rule because it is preceded by an aside:

Astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets, most of them at least as large as Jupiter, circling other stars.

Taking this out:

Astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets circling other stars.

"circling other stars" is an -ing modifier that should not have a comma in front of it b/c it is describing the 80 massive planets.

Astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets, most of them at least as large as Jupiter, circling other stars. 这里按照OG的解释,CIRCLING应该也可以修饰MOST OF THEM的啊，MOST OF THEM和MASSIVE PLANTS是不同的概念，应该是指代不清啊，为何又对呢？感觉OG一会这样一会那样，它喜欢这个选项就说对，不喜欢总能找到理由，但是它的理由又不能APPLIED TO ALL THE PORBLEMS，明明在某些题里认为是不对的，换个题又说对了，感觉不是GENERAL RULE,这怎么办呢？？？？？？？

MORE IMPORTANTLY, OG有的题目选的就是逗号+ING的选项，修饰最前面的名词，比如2015 OG 66
THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERING PROPOSED BUILDING PARALLEL TO SHORE A BREAKWATER OF ROCKS THAT WOULD RISE SIX FEET ABOVE THE WATERLINE AND ACT AS A BUFFER, ABSORBING THE ENERGY....
很明显ABSORBING 是修饰BUFFER的，OG解释里面对这个知识点什么都没提，这次不说指代不清了，按照Q 35、67对B的解释应该指代不清啊？
感觉这个问题不属于原则错，不应该拿来排除选项，应该留到最后比较选项，是这样的吗？？？？？但是如果这个选项找不到其它原则错，比如Q35的B，67的B,如果其它错误都修正，可以选吗？Q 66就是选这样的，求大神指教！！！
