【conditional construction】

提到了 condition， x will do ...only if y does ...
这里的will 是直接出现的理解condition还容易一些

但是
OG 13 SC 42
would 是用conditional construction解释的是直接从语义上理解才使用condition的么？
在这里为什么要用would啊为什么不是will

conditional construction 和 if P, (THEN) Q 结构是一样的么？

是条件句的意思表达不止if x ..., (then) y ....一种
40题
是真实条件句 if x..., (then) y will....的形式讨论可能发生的事和其结果
可能发生的事 non-OPEC nations trim output
结果 will PARE DAILY PRODUCTION BY 1.5 MILLION... non-OPEC nations trim output

42题
to do 在句首安置将来要考虑使用虚拟语气
不知道有没有考虑非真实条件句的用法 if x were..., (then) y would...

条件句不只 if then 一种表达形式

LZ，我想，40题和时态没关系，它主要测试only if的用法以及分词的用法，和前面用will还是用would没关系。

而 42题，是目的状语，后面用虚拟语气would.

Ron大神说过这个题目中would have to和have to都可以，但是意思会有细微的差别。

Ron: I think this sentence makes sense with either "would have to" or "have to". there's a slight rhetorical difference ("would have to" carries the connotation that these forecasts are just hypothetical and don't actually have to be developed, or that at least it's not important, while "have to" implies that these forecasts are important and have to be made), but you don't have to make such rhetorical distinctions on the exam.

意思是不会发展还是发生呢
但是42题用虚拟语气做的话 would 就不能省略了

不会发展，这样才与事实（to develop more accurate population forecasts）相反，虚拟语气的特点。
如果确实是虚拟语气，would不能省略；但问题是would have to和 have to都说的通。
would have to: 假设人口统计学家要发展更加准确的人口统计预测，他们需要在经济和社会因素方面比现在知道的更多（隐含的意思就是这仅仅是一个假设，事实上人口统计学家不会去这么做，或者至少这个事情并不重要）
have to: 人口统计学家为了要发展更加准确的人口统计预测，他们需要在经济和社会因素方面比现在知道的更多（隐含的意思: 这是一个事实，人口统计学家很可能会付出行动，这件事很重要）
