153 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A zoo has no useful purpose. Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.

Due to in many cities there is no enough room for a zoo and operating a zoo will cost much, some people believe a zoo has no useful purpose. Others are opposed to this perspective because a zoo can bring people more happiness and knowledge. According to my own experience, I agree with the later. I feel glad and lucky that there is a large zoo in my city and it virtually makes citizens' life more colorful and relaxing. In the following discussion I will reason my opinion further.

First, a zoo perhaps means a haven for many precious and rare species nowadays. A zoo protects animals not only from the illegal hunt but the environmental pollution which may lead a fatal effect to them. As it is reported, over 100 various species of animals die out annually. Extremely some special animals can be seen just in certain zoos today. We cannot imagine that human beings live alone without other animals. It is obvious that a zoo possess the necessary requirements for animals' survival. And the staff's care is important for them.

Second, a zoo is also an excellent site for children's junior education. For example, children learn the daily behavior of an elephant in the class. And then they can see real elephants in the zoo by themselves on the weekend and know how an elephant uses its nose to catch its food impressively. In addition, a zoo is a recreation ground for family members to go together too. My parents and I all remain the exciting and unforgettable memories that we spent in the zoo when I was a little boy.

Admittedly, some people point out that the source of animals is a problem and the skilled animal-keepers are not available sometimes. Hance, a supermarket in contrast will be more useful for local people. However, I think all problems can be dealt with by a comprehensive plan.

Because of no enough space for a zoo and the high operating cost, some people claim that a zoo is no use;but others, in contrast, oppose this perspective, maintaining that a zoo can bring people , especially the children, more pleasure as well as knowledge. In my personal experience, I agree the latter and in the following discussion I will explore my opinions further in two main aspects.

to sum up, with the above-mentioned reasons, it is easy to reach that a zoo is not useful but benefits not only the animals but the humanity also,and that the animals would find the zoo a safe home and the children  find it pleasure of heaven
