答案C。但我老对D有疑问，为什么不能用过去进行时？高手给解答一下？

感觉差异很小。从句子的整体来看，在陈述一个事实或者就是一件事情，用一般过去时要更符合整体的意思，进行时觉得突兀。不过，这题有些过分。FORGET IT。
请高手讲解。

这个题目我也很纳闷。我觉得在he seemed, she noticed, disoriented中
, she noticed,
作为插入成份不是挺好的嘛？深海的小美人鱼所说的“too complicated and wordy”指的是这个吗？
另外，我怎么都觉得用进行时态比过去时要好。
请高手指点。

GEMJ兄提到插入语，你看看是不是插入语的位置有问题，插入语一般是不是修饰前面的内容的居多？放在SEEMED的后面是不是有些问题？我不是很清楚。

如果这样he ，she noticed ，seemed disoriented 是不是好些？或者这样he seemed disoriented, she noticed

D选项我觉得主要场景表达不如C合理，在SIPING的同时，两人还互相“欣赏“着对方？而C中，SIP用的是过去式，明白地表现明了，他们SIP完后的反应。

1. ”as they were sipping....“ 和 “the next morning” 可以这样连用吧. “the next morning” 是经常和过去时连用, 但和"as...doing..." 连用也是有的。起码我见过 "The next morning as they were eating their breakfast, they watched the news."

2. "as they were sipping ..." 后应连一个动作动词(某一刻发生的...), "he seemed" 是在表状态, 而且是主观的评判.
