我做这题的时候，就知道在C和E里面选，但是这个C里面THAT到底修饰TROUGHS还是TROUGHS和CRESTS不是很明确，就导致我没有选C，但是答案是C，的确从意思上来说是C比E好，但是E里面的although前面的东西我觉得要清晰点，而且修饰完全没必要用从句去，这样会加重语法的复杂性不符合GMAT的规则，我因此困惑，请好心人解答下，谢谢。

有and连接了，所以一般不会错在这个点，另外注意看E把remain省略了，像remain这样具有意义的系动词省略了会改变句子意思，就像你省略become那种感觉，简洁是最后判断的标准，不能先用简洁来判断

although是个连词，不应该放在一个介词后面的。
C中的that指代crests and troughs 两个东西。一个定语从句内部用although是允许的。因为它是句子。。
