A proposal has been made to trim the horns from rhinoceroses to discourage poachers; the question is whether tourists will continue to visit game parks and see rhinoceroses after their horns are trimmed.
(A) whether tourists will continue to visit game parks and see rhinoceroses after their horns are
(B) whether tourists will continue to visit game parks to see one once the animals' horns are
(C) whether tourists will continue to visit game parks to see rhinoceroses once the animals' horns have been
(D) if tourists will continue to visit game parks to see rhinoceroses once the animals' horns are
(E) if tourists will continue to visit game parks to see one after the animals' horns have been

答案是C选项，C中，以前在有些题中看到平行结构中的to可以省略，但是此题中的to为什么就不可以省略？呢？？？

我觉得不是说一定要省略，应该是跟其他答案相比C更好，比如说A， their horns are中的their就指代不清，所以排除；A省略的to应该也是没有错的。

平行结构的to省略有一个前提是前面的动词是一致的，例如：go to work and play，原句应为go to work and go to play。而本题不是平行结构，是两个句子，continue to do是固定搭配

第一个to是continue的固定搭配, 后面一个to表目的. 这里根本不是平行结构啊, 何来省略一说?

！！！顶一下，好难说。

比如我们常常说：to check whether you need more practice to complete the test in the time allotted.

这里的whether 换成if就没有问题。

！！！顶一下，好难说。

比如我们常常说：to check whether you need more practice to complete the test in the time allotted.

这里的whether 换成if就没有问题。

日常语法里whether和if都可以表示是否，但是gmat里不能用if啊，这不是早就有定论了吗？或者谁有原题作为反例吗？
