Due to an increased volume of calls and emails pertaining to the items listed below you may experience a delayed response. Thank you for reviewing this information before contacting our offices.
· ADMISSIONS IS A SHARED PROCESS BETWEEN McCombs and The University of Texas Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC): You will have requirements with both departments as detailed in the instructions, and you will receive email communications from both departments. If you have submitted all required components of your online Texas MBA application and your test scores were submitted (or requested to be sent) to the University of Texas by the deadline, you do not need to contact the Texas MBA offices for any reason.
· FEE PAYMENT: The application fee invoice in the University of Texas “What I Owe” system will NOT be available immediately. Check the link to What I Owe to submit your payment. https://utdirect.utexas.edu/acct/rec/wio/wio_home.WBX If you do not have an application fee bill, you may have multiple EIDs. Check your email history for information concerning EIDs generated by the University. For EID retrieval and help, visit this link: http://www.utexas.edu/eid/help/ Contact GIAC regarding multiple EIDs as these should be merged to a single EID that you will use with the McCombs online application system, and the University of Texas systems including What I Owe and GIAC status check. After your application fee payment has been confirmed, you will have access to the GIAC UPLOAD function. This is where you upload your transcripts for the second time (per the Application Instructions available at this URL http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/MBA/Full-Time/Admissions/Apply.aspx).
· EMAIL FROM GIAC: You will receive an email from UT office of Admissions (GIAC) after your application loads onto the UT system. This is an auto-generated, generic email that is sent to all applicants in every graduate and undergraduate program at the University of Texas. Receipt of this email means your application fee is available for payment, and contains a link to the GIAC status check where you can find more information on paying your application fee and uploading your transcripts to GIAC. After you've completed these requirements, the GIAC status check should be used exclusively for monitoring the receipt by the University of your official test scores and the status of your second set of uploaded transcripts (see FEE PAYMENT and TRANSCRIPT UPLOADS TO GIAC below). Please note the GIAC status check may not reflect the review and status of your test scores and transcripts for up to several weeks.
· TRANSCRIPT UPLOADS TO GIAC: You can upload transcripts to GIAC only AFTER you have paid the application fee. Info on GIAC transcript requirement: http://www.utexas.edu/ogs/admissions/howtous.html As long as you uploaded your transcripts with your Texas MBA application, you do not need to contact the Texas MBA offices for any reason.
· TEST SCORES: If you self-reported test scores in your online Texas MBA Application, and the official scores were sent to the University of Texas by the deadline, you do not need to contact the Texas MBA offices for any reason. If your GIAC status check shows a missing score, and you have allowed time for the scores to be received (some scores take up to a few weeks to load into the University of Texas System), please email Marla.Boye@austin.utexas.edu at Graduate and International Admissions.
· TRANSCRIPTS – GENERAL INFO: To reiterate, you will upload two transcripts – one to McCombs and one to GIAC. If you are recommended for admission and intend to enroll, you are required to submit official transcripts to GIAC upon acceptance of the offer. Validation of the official transcript by GIAC is required for enrollment.
· CERTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (International Applicants only): International applicants will see this item on their GIAC status check. This is NOT required until after admission and will not delay a decision on your application. Completing this document in advance of your admission will speed completion of your immigration paperwork in the event you are offered admission and you accept.
· ROUND 2 AUDIT: Submitted applications go through a series of automated and manual audits both at McCombs. You will be notified no later than December 19th if your application did not pass the McCombs audit. Continue to monitor your GIAC status exclusively for test scores, transcript status and fee payment.
· UNIVERSITY WINTER BREAK – Our students finish finals December 13th and won’t return until January 17th. Please expect a delayed response to inquiries during this time. The University of Texas and the McCombs School of Business is closed December 23 – January 2. On campus recruiting events and interview slots will resume on January 20th. Please check the calendar often for updated schedule options. Class visits will resume the week of January 23rd.
· INTERVIEW POLICY AT McCombs: Interviews are by invitation only and can be conducted either on campus or off campus. If you receive an invitation it will arrive via email, as well as be indicated on the status of your online Texas MBA application and you will have access to the interview schedule options. Interview invitations can come at anytime during the round.
We look forward to evaluating your application in the near future.
Sincerely,
Texas MBA Admissions
