58 Learning is primarily a matter of personal discipline; students cannot be motivated by school or college alone.

2.强调学生的主体地位,也就是说motivated by ourselves but not school 。
 What is learning? As a matter of fact, learning is some action taken mostly by human beings taking some time to grasp some skill or knowledge. Additionally, in the process of learning, motivated people have to perceive, imitate, contemplate, exercise repeatedly, reflect upon themselves, practice again and again. Accordingly, learning is a matter wholly companioned with wrestling with laziness, distracting and abortion in the half way.
  It is easily concluded from above that learning is primarily something of personal discipline because in the whole during of learning, from the beginning of motivation to the overwhelming perseverance, all of cruxes depend on personal disposition and characteristics.
  Thusly, it is conceded that students cannot be motivated exclusively by school or college. However, school or college plays an important role in the learning of human beings. Accordingly, it is wise and judicious to entail school or college motivating people to learn.
  Firstly, school or college congregates many coevals to learn together and it is the most important motivation of learning to be superior in the group by competing. Furthermore, learning potentiality of persons usually would be stimulated only if school or college guides students to contend fairly and freely.
  Secondly, imitation is the dispensable step of learning and people can easily find ideal imitation models among teachers and those top students. School or college hires those eminent teachers or gives scholarship to those shining students, which is one of best ways to motivate people to learn effectively and progressively.
  Thirdly, school or college should construct perfect system to lead students to learn based on their interests and gifts. Consequently, the criterion to judge the effect of education should be versatile to keep up with the versatility of many students. In other expression, school or college should be a right site where most of ordinary people would find compatible ways to be the most ideal ones of themselves by learning.
  Final analysis, even though learning is primarily with personal matter, the role of school or college to motivate students learning should be emphasized extensively and deeply.

1. noun [of children] [ pupils] 纪律
2. noun (self-control) 约束
3. noun [c] (branch of knowledge) 学科
4. vt. to discipline o.s. (to do sth) (train)
5. vt. (punish)

1.    学习的过程辛苦,需要自制力才能坚持学习;
a)    专注,投入,勤奋、思考,不断实践——实验室十几个小时的实验研究,图书馆里日日夜夜地研读论文书籍——牺牲了娱乐、放松的时间;
2.    很多时候,学生能够保障良好的学习质量,也和学校的督促分不开;
a)    教学设施、老师的努力备课答疑、学校浓郁、安静的学习与文化氛围,这些都是为了保障学生能够好好读书而存在的;——当我不能静心读书时,学校安静的氛围,图书馆其他人努力工作的情形,会感染我,影响我,让我能够专心读书;
b)    学校会设立奖学金,用实际的金钱来激励、鞭策学生努力读书;考试GPA制度,现实学习成果,鞭策学习;
