偶选了B,但看到一说答案应为A,比较困惑，还请大家一起讨论一下。

both没有单独用的，each。。。the other是固定同时出现的搭配

过了N久了，还是偶自己来试着回答吧

查了一下词条，both作pron.的话，意思为the one as well as the other,显然这里如果用both (of the contractor and the engineer)会和 the other有冲突。将解释带入原句： the contractor and the engineer blame the other .(as well as = and ),显然用both不合适，因为the other 一般会用在 one ..., the other...中；所以A不对.

这里each 后面为什么接的是单数谓语，我记得each的单复数是以下规则：

复数名词 + each + verb,谓语动词用复

each of 复数名词 + verb,谓语动词用单

数
